The mission of the World Change Coalition is to support worthy causes in our community through volunteering efforts. The WCC acts a platform from which students can begin to collaborate and tackle issues such as poverty throughout the community through different projects.
World Change Coalition (WCC) was created in 2010 by a group of Coca-Cola Scholars. WCC is a national non-profit organization, which focuses on solving educational problems throughout the world. The organization works to bring together individuals of different race, sex and religion to implement service-oriented projects within their community and worldwide.
Kent State University’s chapter aims to create programs which elicit global and cultural awareness, religious tolerance and environmental health. This chapter will act as a platform from which students can begin to collaborate and tackle worldwide issues. Kent State WCC’s service projects can include volunteering at local charities, fundraising for national organizations and hosting cultural awareness fairs on campus. Collectively, the underlying goal is to allow Kent State students the ability to imagine their potential for change.
